Disclaimer & Privacy Notice

Please read this notice carefully before using PreflightAI.

Last updated: 29 June 2026

⚠ Educational and informational use only

PreflightAI has no official value or authority for flight planning, dispatch or flight operations. It is not an official preflight briefing and must never be used as the sole basis for any operational decision. Always obtain and verify information from official, authoritative sources before every flight.

1.Educational and simplification purpose only

PreflightAI (“the Service”) is provided solely for educational, training, demonstration and informational simplification purposes. It is designed to help pilots, flight-training students and aviation enthusiasts learn to read and interpret aeronautical information such as METAR, TAF and NOTAMs.

The Service has no official status, value or authority of any kind for the purposes of flight planning, flight preparation, dispatch or flight operations. It does not replace, and is not equivalent to, an official aeronautical briefing.

2.Not an official source of aeronautical information

PreflightAI is not an Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) provider and is not approved, certified, endorsed by or affiliated with any civil aviation authority (including but not limited to ICAO, EASA, ENAC and the FAA), any air navigation service provider, or any recognised commercial briefing provider.

Nothing presented by the Service constitutes an official preflight or meteorological briefing within the meaning of any applicable regulation, including Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 923/2012 (“SERA”), ICAO Annex 15 (Aeronautical Information Services), ICAO Annex 3 (Meteorological Service) or 14 CFR Part 91.

3.Pilot-in-command responsibility

Final authority over, and responsibility for, the operation and safety of a flight rests solely with the pilot-in-command (ICAO Annex 2, SERA.2010 and 14 CFR 91.3, as applicable).

Before every flight you must independently obtain and verify all relevant information from official and authoritative sources, including the official Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP), the relevant national and international NOTAM offices, certified providers (e.g. Jeppesen, LIDO), approved self-briefing systems (e.g. Eurocontrol EAD, your national CAA) and the appropriate Air Traffic Services units. Where information from the Service conflicts with an official source, the official source always prevails.

4.AI-generated content

Briefings, decoded text, plain-language summaries and NOTAM prioritisation (RED / YELLOW / GREEN) are generated automatically by a large language model. Automated output may contain errors, omissions, misclassifications or fabricated content (“hallucinations”), and is provided on a best-effort basis only. It is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, current or fit for any particular purpose.

5.Data sources and availability

Weather and NOTAM data are retrieved from third-party sources (including, at the date above, aviationweather.gov and AVWX) and may be delayed, incomplete, cached, truncated or temporarily unavailable. We do not control these sources and cannot guarantee their accuracy, timeliness or continuity.

6.No warranty and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators and contributors of PreflightAI accept no liability for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss, damage, injury or cost arising from the use of, or reliance on, the Service or its output. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

7.Privacy and data protection (GDPR)

This section describes how the Service processes data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”).

  • What is processed. The ICAO aerodrome codes, aircraft type and any dispatch, OFP or NOTAM text or PDF file you choose to submit.
  • Purpose and legal basis. The data is processed only to generate the briefing you request. The legal basis is the performance of the service you ask for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and/or your consent given by submitting it (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • No storage / stateless service. Your inputs are processed in memory to fulfil your request only. PreflightAI does not store them in any database, user profile or persistent log; uploaded PDFs are parsed in memory and discarded after the text is extracted.
  • Recipients / processors. To produce a briefing, your input is transmitted to third-party services that process it under their own terms: Anthropic (AI processing of the briefing prompt, which may include text you upload or paste), and the weather/NOTAM data providers named in Section 5. Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area (e.g. in the United States), which may involve an international transfer of data.
  • No tracking. The Service does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not run third-party advertising analytics.
  • Your responsibility. Please do not upload personal data of third parties (for example passenger names or crew personal details). Remove or redact any personal data from dispatch documents before uploading them.
  • Your rights. Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). Because the Service does not retain your inputs, requests relating to that data may need to be directed to the third-party processors above.

8.Acceptance

By using PreflightAI you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted this Disclaimer & Privacy Notice in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
